TPMS Symptom Troubleshooting Index (TPMS Control Unit)

Symptom  Diagnostic procedure  Also check for 
HDS does not communicate with the TPMS control unit or the vehicle Symptom troubleshooting - Refer to: Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - HDS does not communicate with the vehicle () or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS with Connection to CAN Gateway) () or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - B-CAN Lost Communication () or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) () or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN BUS-OFF (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) () .  
Low tire pressure/TPMS indicator does not come on Symptom Troubleshooting .  
Low tire pressure/TPMS indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored NOTE:  If any of the CAN communication failure DTC is indicated in other system, troubleshoot the DTC first.
  • Check for open wire or short wire in the F-CAN circuit;
    • Between the gauge control module and the CAN gateway (IF-CAN_H, IF-CAN_L)
    • Between the body control module and the CAN gateway (BF-CAN_H, BF-CAN_L)
  • Check the body control module power circuit (+B_BACK_UP, +B_SMART)
  • Check the body control module ground circuit (GND, PGND)
  • Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .
