Auto Idle Stop System Symptom Troubleshooting - Auto idle stop system does not operate: Inspection

12 Volt Battery Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
  • Start the engine.
  • Confirm the HDS [Idle Stop Inhibit (Battery Deterioration)].

• Normal Conditions
• • The HDS [Idle Stop Inhibit (Battery Deterioration)] value is not INHIBITED  .

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the 12 volt battery.

  NOTE: Do the 12 volt battery internal resistance reset procedure , and recheck.

Brake Pedal Position Switch Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
  • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  • Confirm the HDS [Brake Switch] when the brake pedal is pressed and released.

• Normal Conditions
  • The HDS [Brake Switch] value changes ON and OFF  .

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the brake pedal position switch.

Outside Air Temperature Sensor Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
  • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  • Check the outside air temperature displayed on the gauge control module.
  • Check the actual outside air temperature.

• Normal Conditions
  • The accurate outside air temperature is displayed.

    NOTE:  If the outside air temperature is not displayed, check the climate control unit.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the outside air temperature sensor.

Indicator Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
  • Start the engine.
  • Check the following indicators on the gauge control module.

    * MIL

    * Starter system indicator

    * Charging system indicator

    * Shift position indicator

    * EPS indicator

    * Brake system indicator

    * VSA indicator

    * SRS indicator

• Normal Conditions
  • The indicator goes off, and DTC is not indicated.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the applicable system.

  NOTE:  Do the troubleshooting for the system that indicator stays on.

  • PGM-FI system
  • Starter system
  • Charging system
  • A/T system
  • EPS system
  • Electric Parking Brake system
  • Electric Brake Booster System
  • VSA system
  • SRS system

Shift Position Indicator Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
  • Shift the transmission to D position/mode while pressing the brake pedal firmly.
  • Check the shift position indicator on the gauge control module.

• Normal Conditions
  • The shift position indicator comes on.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function and the A/T system symptom troubleshooting .
