    1. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.

    2. Remove the rear engine mount.

    Tightening Procedure 

    Step Operation Object Specification
    1 Temporarily Tighten -
    2 Tighten All Bolts

    Preconditions 

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove: 

    Disconnect: 

    • Steering Joint

      NOTICE: 

      Do not turn the steering wheel while disconnecting the steering joint.

      NOTE:  If the center guide is in place, discard it.

    • Front Suspension Area Parts
      • Front Lower Arm Ball Joint (Both Sides)
      • Front Stabilizer Link (Front Stabilizer Bar Side) (Both Sides)
    • Connector
    • Front Engine Mount Actuator Harness
    • ACM Ground
    • Front Engine Mount (Engine Side)
    • Rear Engine Mount (Engine Side)

    Sub-Procedure 

    Removal 

    1. Refer to figure 1.

    NOTE:

    Be careful not to damage the ball joint boots when installing the ball joint remover . (Figure 1)

    3. Attach the subframe adapter to the front subframe by looping the belt (a) over the front of the front subframe, then secure the belt with its stop (b), and tighten the wing nut (c). (Figure 3)

    4. Raise a transmission jack (d) and line up the slots in the subframe adapter arms with the bolt holes on the transmission jack base, then securely attach them with four bolts. (Figure 3)

    1. Do the following procedure while using the subframe alignment pin.

    Removal 

    NOTICE: 

    Using clean solvent and a brush, wash any oil and dirt off the end of the steering gearbox, and blow dry with compressed air.

    • Refer to figure 1.
