DTC B1038 (Body Control Module): Inspection

BF-CAN_H, BF-CAN_L Open Wire Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • CAN gateway connector (40P): disconnected
  • Body control module connector A (66P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

			(Disconnected) CAN gateway connector (40P) female terminals	(Disconnected) Body control module connector A (66P) female terminals

	BF-CAN_H open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	BF-CAN_L open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

VF-CAN A_H, VF-CAN A_L Open Wire Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • CAN gateway connector (40P): disconnected
  • VSA modulator-control unit connector (46P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

			(Disconnected) CAN gateway connector (40P) female terminals	(Disconnected) VSA modulator-control unit connector (46P) female terminals

	VF-CAN A_H open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	VF-CAN A_L open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

Body Control Module Inspection 

Preconditions 

NOTE:  This procedure can be done before any other inspections are completed because this test procedure includes all of the following inspection items. However, if this test fails, it will be necessary to continue with each inspection item individually to determine which item failed.

• External circuit is normal

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
  • Do the HDS [F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check].

• Normal Conditions
  • The HDS indicates body control module is Detected on BF-CAN.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the body control module.

VSA modulator-control unit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining VSA modulator-control unit is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the VSA modulator-control unit.
