Installation Procedure

Fig 1: Crossmember (Lower Control Arm)

Install the crossmember to the vehicle.
Perform the following procedure before installing the bolts.
- Remove all traces of the original adhesive patch.
- Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
- Apply Threadlocker GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the bolts and the nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 120 N.m (89 lb ft).
Remove the differential support.

Install the differential mounting nut, bolt, and washer. Refer to DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in Front Drive Axle.
Install the underbody shields. Refer to Catalytic Converter Guard Replacement .
Lower the vehicle.
