| Condition | Some technicians may replace the OnStar® Communication Interface Module only to find that they cannot program it with the Tech2. |
| Cause | This may be caused by the Gen 7 OnStar® Communication Interface Modules being no longer available and were replaced by the Gen 8 OnStar® Communication Interface Module. |
CORRECTION
IMPORTANT:
The Tech2 does not currently recognize the Gen 8 OnStar® Communication Interface Module valid for the vehicle.
In order to program the replacement OnStar® Communication Interface Module in the vehicles listed above, it will be necessary to build the vehicle in the Tech 2 as a different vehicle. Below is a table indicating what to build the vehicle as with the Tech2 so that the module can be programmed correctly.
