Circuit/System Testing

LCD Deployed At All Times

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ISRVM.
  2. Ignition ON, vehicle in PARK, verify a test lamp does not illuminate between the control circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to voltage.
  3. If all circuits test normal, replace the ISRVM.

LCD Does Not Deploy

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ISRVM.
  2. Ignition ON, vehicle in REVERSE, verify a test lamp illuminates between the control circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  3. If all circuits test normal, replace the ISRVM.

Rear Vision System Does Not Display

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the rearview camera image display module.
  2. Test for less than 10 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. Vehicle in REVERSE, verify a test lamp illuminates between the control circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  5. Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the rearview camera image display module. Disconnect the harness connector at the rearview camera.
  6. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1.0 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal B and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rearview camera image display module.
  7. Test for less than 3.0 ohms along the signal circuit terminal C to terminal 9.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
  8. Ignition ON, vehicle in REVERSE, test for 5.8-6.2 volts between the 6-volt reference circuit terminal A and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the 6-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rearview camera image display module.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the 6-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rearview camera image display module.
  9. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ISRVM.
  10. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminals listed below C and ground:
    • Terminal 1
    • Terminal 2
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rearview camera image display module.
  11. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate test for less than 1 volt between the camera video signal circuit terminals listed below C and ground:
    • Terminal 1
    • Terminal 2
    • If greater than the specified range the test lamp illuminates, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rearview camera image display module.
  12. Test for less than 3.0 ohms between along the signal circuit terminals listed below C to terminal 9.
    • Terminal 1 at the ISRVM and terminal C at the rearview camera
    • Terminal 2 at the ISRVM and terminal D at the rearview camera
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rearview camera image display module.
  13. Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 ohms between the shield low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the shield low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rearview camera image display module.
  14. If all circuits test normal, replace the rearview camera.
  15. Ignition ON, vehicle in REVERSE, verify a clear rearview image should is displayed on the LCD.
    • If a clear image is not displayed, replace the ISRVM.
