Preliminary Procedure: Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement .
1	Steering Wheel Nut CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 35 N.m (26 lb ft)
2	Steering Wheel Procedure Install anti-rotation pin J 42640 . Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed. To remove the steering wheel, screw the steering wheel nut on several turns and then wiggle the steering wheel loose. Special Tools: J 42640 Steering Column Anti-Rotation Pin

Tighten: 35 N.m (26 lb ft)

Procedure

Install anti-rotation pin J 42640 .
Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
To remove the steering wheel, screw the steering wheel nut on several turns and then wiggle the steering wheel loose.
