Description & Operation: Introduction
Mitsubishi automatic transaxles consist of torque converter, transfer assembly, and differential. The complete transaxle assembly is contained in a single housing. The transaxle consists of a front and rear clutch, kickdown band, low-reverse brake, one-way clutch, valve body and a planetary gear set.
The transfer assembly consists of a drive gear, idler gear, driven gear and a transfer shaft. The differential consists of a differential case, ring gear, pinion shaft and gears, speedometer gear and 2 side gears. A lock-up torque converter may be used.
