Front Wiper/Washer Switch Test

  1. Wiper/washer switch is incorporated within multifunction switch, mounted on steering column. Test continuity of wiper switch circuits with switch in position indicated in table. See WIPER/WASHER SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST  .
  2. Ensure continuity exists between terminals listed. Check connector and terminal cavity identification. SeeFig 1 -Fig 3 . For terminal descriptions, see STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.

Off B 19 & 21
Intermittent (2) B 19 & 21; 18, (2) 16 & 13
Low B 16 & 21
High B 16 & 20
Washer B 16 & 17
Scoupe
Off A 2 & 8
Intermittent (2) A 2 & 8; (2) 9 & 13
Low A 2 & 13
High A 7 & 13
Washer A 1 & 13
Sonata
Off B 1 & 3
Intermittent (2) B 1 & 3; 7, (2) 9 & 10
Low B 3 & 10
High B 2 & 10
Washer B 8 & 10
(1) Continuity should exist between the terminals listed.
(2) Continuity should also fluctuate between terminals No. 16 & 13 for Excel, between terminals No. 9 & 13 for Scoupe, and between terminals No. 9 & 10 for Sonata. Reason for this fluctuation is a resistor in this circuit.
