Diode Assembly

  1. Check each diode with ohmmeter in both directions. If diodes show large resistance in one direction and no resistance in the other direction, diodes are normal. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .

  2. If diode shows small resistance in both directions, diode is shorted. If large resistance is shown in both directions, diode is open. If any diode is defective, replace complete rectifier assembly.
