Procedure # 1 Resetting the Base Idle and TPS


SERVICE PROCEDURE

# 1 RESETTING THE BASE IDLE AND TPS

Follow the instructions in the 1991 Sonata Shop Manual pages 31-28 through 31-31.

1. Set Base Idle to 750-800 rpms.
2. Set TPS to 480-520 mv.
3. Verify MPS is about 900 mv. If not, replace ISC Servo Ass'y.
4. Verify Idle switch is working by observing Idle switch, MUT # 26, and see that it is "ON" while idling and that it goes to "OFF" when the accelerator is depressed. If not, replace the ISC Servo Ass'y.
