Component Testing: Switch

Remove switch in question and perform continuity testing according to appropriate table.

MAIN SWITCH CONTINUITY TESTING (1)

Position Condition (2) Terminals
Left Up No. 3 & 5; 1 & 8
" Off No. 1, 3 & 8
" Down No. 1 & 3; 5 & 8
Right Up No. 1 & 6; 2 & 7
" Off No. 1, 2 & 6
" Down No.1 & 2; 6 & 7
(1) Disconnect switch before testing. Check continuity between terminals. If continuity does not exist, replace switch.

SUB-SWITCH CONTINUITY TESTING (1) , (2)

Position (3) Terminals
Up No. 1 & 2; 4 & 5
Off No. 1, 2 & 5
Down No. 1 & 5; 2 & 4
(1) Disconnect switch before testing. Check continuity between terminals. If continuity does not exist, replace switch.
(2) Continuity between terminals No. 1 & 4 with switch ON, and no continuity with switch OFF.
