System Testing: Switch

Remove switch in question and perform continuity testing according to appropriate table. Main switch is driver's switch. Sub-switches are mounted at each passenger door.

CONTINUITY TESTING MAIN SWITCH (1) (2-DOOR)

Position Condition (2) Terminals
Left Up No. 3 & 8, 1 & 7
" Off No. 1, 3 & 8
" Down No. 1 & 8, 3 & 7
Right Up No. 2 & 8, 7 & 9
" Off No. 2, 7 & 9
" Down No. 8 & 9, 2 & 7
(1) Disconnect switch before testing. Check continuity between terminals. If continuity does not exist as shown, replace switch.

CONTINUITY TESTING MAIN SWITCH (1) (4-DOOR)

Position Condition (2) Terminals
Left Front Up No. 2 & 4; 8 & 11
Left Front Off No. 4, 8 & 11
Left Front Down No. 2 & 11; 4 & 8
Right Front Up No. 2 & 5; 8 & 12
Right Front Off No. 5, 8 & 12
Right Front Down No. 2 & 12; 5 & 8
Left Rear Up No. 2 & 6; 8 & 13
Left Rear Off No. 6, 8 & 13
Left Rear Down No. 2 & 13; 6 & 8
Right Rear Up No. 2 & 3; 8 & 9
Right Rear Off No. 3, 8 & 9
Right Rear Down No. 2 & 9; 3 & 8
(1) Disconnect switch before testing. Check continuity between terminals. If continuity does not exist as shown, replace switch.

CONTINUITY TESTING SUB-SWITCH (1)(2)

Position (3) Terminals
Up No. 3 & 6; 5 & 7
Off No. 5 & 7; 2 & 6
Down No. 3 & 5; 2 & 6
(1) Disconnect switch before testing. Check continuity between terminals. If continuity does not exist as shown, replace switch.
(2) With switch disconnected, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and 4 with positive lead on terminal No. 1. and No continuity with negative lead at terminal No. 1 (diode in circuit).
(3) SeeFig 3 and Fig 4 .
