Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments






1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector.





2. If a scan tool is not used, connect a digital-type voltmeter between terminal 13 and terminal 18 of the engine control module.

NOTE:
- Do not disconnect the engine control module connector from the engine control module.
- Use a digital voltmeter.

3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not start engine) and check that the throttle position sensor output voltage is as specified. If a scan tool is used, press code No. 14 and read the voltage.

Standard value: 480 - 520 m volts





4. If it is out of specification, loosen throttle position Sensor mounting screws and adjust by turning the throttle position Sensor.

NOTE:
- Turning the throttle position Sensor clockwise Increases the output voltage.
- Tighten the screws securely after adjustment.

5. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
