Key Interlock System

  1. With shift lever in any gear position except Park, ensure ignition key cannot be turned to LOCK position. Place shift lever in Park. Ensure ignition key can now be turned to LOCK position.
  2. If key interlock system operation is not as specified, it may be necessary to check key lock solenoid.See KEY LOCK SOLENOID  under SHIFT & KEY INTERLOCK SYSTEMS COMPONENT TESTING. If necessary, check wiring and ground connections. See Fig 1 and Fig 2.
  3. Ground connection G02 is located near passenger's side kick panel. See Fig 2. Ground connection G07 is located on pillar, near window.
