DTC P0120: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor: Notes

NOTE: The Throttle Position (TP) sensor is located at the side of the throttle body and is connected to the throttle valve. TP sensor is a variable resistor/potentiometer used to indicate the throttle valve opening angle. As the throttle valve opens, TP sensor resistance decreases and as the throttle valve closes, TP sensor resistance increases. ECM supplies a 5-volt reference signal to TP sensor and then measures TP sensor signal voltage. TP sensor signal is used by ECM to adjust timing and injector pulse width.
