Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

The vehicle speed sensor which is installed on the speedometer driven gear in transaxle provides a pulse signal to the ECM and the ECM calculates the vehicle speed.
With the ignition switch in ON, or START, battery voltage is supplied from fuse 8 to the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). The sensor is grounded by the BLK wire to G10.
The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) intermittently grounds the circuit which generates a pulsed signal in it. The number of pulses per minute increases/decreases with the speed of the car.
