Adaptive Learning Procedure

(must be performed in the order shown below)

TCM Shift Logic

1. Record the customer's radio stations.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 15 seconds, then reconnect the cable.

3. Reset the customer's radio stations.

4. Start the engine.

5. Check the ATF temperature per the criteria below before proceeding to the next step.

Adaptive shift learning begins during the following conditions:

^ 1st engine start after reconnecting the battery cable and ATF is above 50° F (10° C).

^ 2nd and subsequent engine starts and ATF is above 122° F (50° C).

6. Accelerate the vehicle through several 1-2-3 up-shifts at light and medium throttle openings until shift flare and shift shock no longer occur.
