1.6 DOHC DETECTING CONDITION

Item Detecting Condition Possible cause
Monitoring Strategy
  • Response rate
  • Abnormal combustion
  • Improper fuel pressure
  • Front and rear HO2S connectors reversed.
  • Faulty fuel delivery system.
  • Leak in intake system.
  • Leak in exhaust system.
  • Faulty HO2S.
  • Faulty PCM
Threshold value
  • Average period of 9 oscillation signal: >2.8 sec
Enable Conditions
  • Engine speed 1800-2800 RPM
  • Engine load 35-705%
  • Catalyst temperature > 450°C (842°F)

  • None
NOTE: If any misfire, purge solenoid valve, MAP or HO2S heater codes are present, do all repairs associated with those codes before proceeding this troubleshooting procedure.
