Signal Circuit Inspection

  1. Check for open in harness
    1. Ignition "OFF"
    2. Disconnect Fuel sender connector.
    3. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
    4. Measure voltage between terminal 1 of sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

      Specification: approximately 12V

    5. Is measure voltage within Specification?

      YES 

      NO 

      • Open circuit or short circuit to chassis ground between Fuel sender harness connector and PCM connector.
      • Repair as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
      NOTE: In case, when the Fuel sender connector is disconnected, the voltage of Fuel sender terminal 1 is 0 V.
      • Possible cause: Open or short between terminal 21 of PCM and terminal 1 of Fuel sender.
