Signal Circuit Inspection
- Check for open in harness
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Acceleration sensor connector.
- Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
- Measure voltage between terminal 3 of sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: approximately 5V
- Is measure voltage within Specification?
YES
- Go to "Check for short to ground in harness" below.
NO
- Open circuit or short circuit to chassis ground between Acceleration sensor harness connector and signal circuit.
- Open circuit between Acceleration sensor harness connector and PCM harness connector.
- Repair as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NOTE: In case, when acceleration sensor connector is disconnected, the voltage at terminal 3 is 0V.- Possible cause-Open or short circuit in harness between terminal 60 of PCM and terminal 3 of acceleration sensor or PCM
- Check for short to power in harness
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Acceleration sensor connector and PCM connector.
- Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
- Measure resistance between terminal 1 and 3 of sensor harness connector.
Specification: infinite
- Is measure resistance within Specification?
YES
- Go to "GROUND CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Short circuit between reference voltage (5V) circuit and signal circuit.
- Repair as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NOTE: When the terminal 1 and 3 are shorted, the resistance measured is below 1Ω.
