Inspection Procedures

  1. CHECK DTC RELATING TO PCSV
    1. Connect a Hi-Scan (Pro) to the data link connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch to ON position and monitor any other DTCs.

    Are any other DTCs also set? 

    No: Go to next

    Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes.

  2. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE ON HOSE TO PCSV
    1. Check hoses connected to PCSV for leakage.

    Is any leakage found? 

    No: Go to next

    Yes: Repair or replace it.

  3. CHECK PCSV FOR NORMAL OPERATION
    1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect the hose leading from the PCSV to the intake manifold at PCSV.
    2. Apply a vacuum at the nipple and verify that the PCSV holds vacuum.
    3. Turn ignition switch to ON position and ground terminal 2 of the PCSV connector (should hear a faint click from PCSV).
    4. Vacuum should be released.
    5. Repeat this procedure 4 or 5 times to ensure PCSV reliability.

    Is PCSV working properly? 

    Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE  .

    No: Replace it.
