Inspection Procedures

  1. CHECK DTC RELATING TO FTPS/PCSV
    1. Connect Hi-Scan (Pro) to data link connector.
    2. Turn ignition to ON and monitor other DTCs.

    Is any DTC relating to FTPS or PCSV set? 

    No: Go to next

    Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes before proceeding with this procedure.

  2. CHECK FTPS/PCSV FOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
    1. Turn ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Thoroughly check connectors for loose, bent, corroded, contaminated, deteriorated or damaged connectors.

    Is any problem present? 

    No: Go to next

    Yes: Repair or replace it.

  3. CHECK FTPS FOR NORMAL PARAMETER
    1. Install FTPS and monitor FTPS voltage signal.
    • Specification: approximately 2.5V at idle 

    Is voltage within specifications? 

    Yes: Go to next

    No: Replace FTPS.

  4. CHECK PCSV
    1. Disconnect PCSV connector and EVAP hose (PCSV side) between PCSV and canister.
    2. Check vacuum at PCSV.

Is PCSV normal? 

Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE  .

No: Replace it.
