DTC P0140: Ho2S Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 / Sensor 2): DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case1) DTC Strategy
  • Signal plausibility during fuel cut off
  • Related fuse blown or missing
  • Contact resistance in connectors
  • HO2S contamination
Enable Conditions
  • (VLS_DOWN > 0.68V or < 0.21V) or Catalyst model temp > 500 °C
  • Sensor preheating and full heating phases finished
  • In fuel cut off phase
  • In fuel cut off active
  • 20g < Integrated mass air flow < 200g
  • No relevant failure
  • 10V < Battery voltage < 16V
Threshold Value
  • Voltage with fuel cut off > 0.1V
Diagnostic Time
  • 2 sec.
Case2) DTC Strategy
  • Signal plausibility during full load
Enable Conditions
  • (VLS_DOWN > 0.68V or < 0.21V) or Catalyst model temp > 500°C
  • Sensor preheating and full heating phases finished
  • 70g < Integrated mass air flow since begin full load < 300g
  • No relevant failure
  • 11V < Battery voltage < 16V
Threshold Value
  • Voltage with full load < 0.70V
Diagnostic Time
  • 2 sec.
Case3) DTC Strategy
  • Signal plausibility after fuel cut off
Enable Conditions
  • Integrated engine load in fuel cut off > 8g
  • Integrated engine load after fuel cut off > 12g
  • Coolant temperature > 74°C(165°F)
  • (VLS_DOWN > 0.68V or < 0.21V) or Catalyst model temp > 500°C
  • 4.82 km(3mph) < Vehicle speed < 180km/h(112mph)
  • Catalyst temperature > 350°C(662°F)
  • No relevant failure
  • 11V < Battery voltage < 16V
Threshold Value
  • Sensor signal increase < 10mV
Diagnostic Time
  • 5 after fuel cut off phase
