2.4 DOHC Engine

  1. Remove the rear cover(A).

  2. Unsolder the 4 stator leads(A) to the main diodes on the rectifier(B).
    CAUTION:
    • When soldering or unsoldering, be careful not to heat the diodes for too long. 
    • Be careful that excessive force is not exerted on the leads of the diodes.

  3. Remove the rectifier assembly(A).

  4. Unsolder between rectifier(A) and brush holder(B).

  5. Remove the rear bracket(A).

  6. Remove the pulley(A).

  7. Disconnect the stator(A), rotor(B) and front bracket(C).

  8. Remove the rear bearing(A) and cover(B).

  9. Reassembly is the reverse or disassembly.
    NOTE: Before the rotor is attached to the rear bracket, insert a wire through the small hole in the rear bracket to lock the brush. After the rotor has been installed, the wire can be removed.
