Sensor Checking (Idle Switch)

USING HI-SCAN (PRO)

HI-SCAN FUNCTIONS REFERENCE

Check item Data display Check conditions Throttle valve Normal indication
Idle position switch
  • Service data item
Switch state Ignition switch: ON (check by operating accelerator pedal repeatedly) At idle position ON
Open a little OFF

USING VOLTMETER

  1. Disconnect the APS connector.
  2. Check the continuity between terminal 4 and sensor ground.
    TERMINALS CONTINUITY CHART

    TPS voltage Continuity
    Higher than 300~900mV Non-conductive ( Ω)
    300~900mV Conductive (0Ω)
  3. If out of specification, replace the throttle position sensor.

USING OHMMETER

  1. Check the resistance of limp-home valve between the terminals 1 and 2.

Resistance: 7.7 - 9.3 Ω at 23°C(73°F)
