USING MULTI-METER
- Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor from the intake manifold.
- With the temperature sensing portion of the engine coolant temperature sensor immersed in hot engine coolant, check the resistance.TEMPERATURE SPECIFICATION
Temperature [°C(°F)] Resistance (kΩ) Voltage (V) 0 (32) 5.9 3.4 ~ 3.6 20 (68) 2.5 2.5 ~ 2.7 40 (104) 1.1 1.5 ~ 1.7 80 (176) 0.3 0.5 ~ 0.7 - If the resistance deviates from the standard value greatly, replace the sensor.
