Inspection Procedure
- PREPARATION
Refer to the DESCRIPTION in this TROUBLESHOOTING part. (PREPARATION OF INSPECTION )
- CHECK OPEN CIRCUIT
- Measure resistance between the terminal 4 of OC module harness connector and the terminal 36 of SRSCM harness connector (B).
- Measure resistance between the terminal 5 of OC module harness connector and the terminal 37 of SRSCM harness connector (B).
specification (resistance): below 1 Ω
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Check short to ground.
NO
- Repair the open circuit on wiring harness between the OC module and the SRSCM.
- CHECK SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure resistance between the terminal 4 of OC module harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification (resistance): infinite
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Check short circuit.
NO
- Repair or replace the wiring harness between the OC module and the SRSCM.
- Measure resistance between the terminal 4 of OC module harness connector and chassis ground.
- CHECK SHORT CIRCUIT
- Measure resistance between the terminal 4 and 5 OC module harness connector.
Specification (resistance): infinite
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Go to next stop.
NO
- Repair or replace the wiring harness between the OC module and the SRSCM.
- Measure resistance between the terminal 4 and 5 OC module harness connector.
- CHECK SHORT TO BATTERY LINE
- Connect the battery negative cable to the battery.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure voltage between the terminal 4 of OC module harness connector and chassis ground.
specification (voltage): Approximately 0 V
- Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Check the OC module.
NO
- Repair the short to battery line on the wiring harness between the OC module and the SRSCM.
- CHECK THE OC MODULE
- Replace the OC module with a new one.
- Refer to OCS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
- Connect the OC module connector.
- Connect the SRSCM connector.
- Connect the battery negative cable to the battery.
- Connect Hi-Scan (Pro) to the data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON and check the vehicle again.
Does Hi-Scan (Pro) indicate any DTC related to OC module?
YES
- Go to next step.
NO
- Replace OC module.
- Replace the OC module with a new one.
- CLEAR THE DTC AND CHECK THE VEHICLE AGAIN
Refer to the DESCRIPTION in this TROUBLESHOOTING part. (CLEAR THE DTC AND CHECK THE VEHICLE AGAIN )
NOTE: Be sure to perform OCS (PODS) reset with Hi-Scan (Pro) after clearing the OCS related DTC.
