DTC P0140 Ho2S Circuit No: Activity Detected (Bank 1/Sensor 2): DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION CHART

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1) DTC Strategy
  • Signal plausibility during fuel cut off
  • Related fuse blown or missing
  • Contact resistance in connectors
  • HO2S contamination
Enable Conditions
  • (Downstream O2 Sensor voltage > 0.56V or < 0.25V) or Catalyst model temperature > 550°C(1022°F)
  • Sensor preheating and full heating phases finished
  • In fuel cut off phase
  • Intergrated Mass Air Flow since begin > 20g
  • In fuel cut off active
  • No relevant failure
  • 10V < Battery voltage < 16V
Threshold Value
  • Voltage with fuel cut off > 0.1V
Diagnostic Time
  • 2 sec
Case 2) DTC Strategy
  • Signal plausibility after fuel cut off
Enable Conditions
  • Coolant temperature > 74°C(165°F)
  • Downstream O2 Sensor operative readiness detected
  • Downstream O2 sensor pre-heating phase fiished
  • Integrated air mass flow in Part Load > 250g
  • Minimum upstream O2 sensor signal during Catalyst Purge phase > 0.7V (to ensure Rich mixture during Catalyst Purge Phase)
  • Catalyst temperature > 348°C (658°F)
  • No relevant failure
  • 11V < Battery voltage < 16V
Threshold Value
  • Max. Downstream O2 Sensor voltage < 0.55V
Diagnostic Time
  • 3 valid fuel cut-off followed by catalyst enrichment phases
Mil On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
