Component Inspection
- Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the sensor connector (Component side).
Specification:
IATS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTemperature Resistance(kΩ) 20°C (68°F) Approx. 2.22 ~ 2.82 40°C (104°F) Approx. 1.06 ~ 1.31 80°C (176°F) Approx. 0.29 ~ 0.36 - Is IAT sensor data within the specification?
YES:
- Check for poor connection between ECM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO:
- Check IAT sensor for contamination, deterioration, or damage. Substitute with a known-good IAT sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace IAT sensor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
