DTC P0140 Ho2S Circuit No: Activity Detected (Bank 1/Sensor 2): DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION

Item Detecting Condition & Fail Safe Possible Cause
(Case1) DTC Strategy
  • Signal Plausibility with Rich Mixture (During Catalyst Purge after Fuel Cut Off)
  • Related fuse blown or missing
  • Contact resistance in connectors
  • HO2S contamination
Enable Conditions
  • Coolant Temperature > 70°C(158°F)
  • Sensor preheating and full heating phases finished
  • Integrated MAF in last Fuel cut-Off > 18g
  • Sensor signal at End of Last Fuel cut-off < 0.2V
  • Integrated Air Mass Flow after Fuel Cut Off > 1000g
  • Maximum Upstream O2 Sensor Voltage during Catalyst Purge > 0.7V
  • Catalyst Temperature Model > 350°C(662°F)
Threshold Value
  • Max Downstream O2 sensor Voltage during Catalyst purge after fuel cut-off < 0.55V
Diagnostic Time
  • 2 Valid Fuel Cut Off by Catalyst Enrichment
(Case2) MIL On Condition Enable Conditions
  • Sensor preheating and full heating phases finished
  • Fuel cut-off phase
  • Integrated MAF after starting fuel cut-off > 20g
Threshold Value
  • Voltage with fuel cut off > 0.2V
Diagnostic Time
  • 5 sec.
