This TSB has been revised to include verification of the navigation system current software version before performing the reprogramming procedure.
IMPORTANT:
DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS CAMPAIGN ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES PRIOR TO CUSTOMER RETAIL DELIVERY AND WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR.
IMPORTANT:
WHEN A VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ACCESS HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA'S "WARRANTY VEHICLE INFORMATION" SCREEN VIA DCS ON-LINE TO IDENTIFY OPEN CAMPAIGNS.
DESCRIPTION
Some 2008-09 Azera, Santa Fe and Veracruz vehicles are equipped with an in-car navigation system as part of the audio system. If a navigation system experiences lock up during operation, this bulletin describes the repair procedure necessary to reprogram the navigation software.
NOTE:
If the navigation screen is blank or locks up, press the RESET button at the bottom right corner of the unit three times to attempt to restart the unit. If the unit restarts, proceed with the reprogramming. If the unit does not restart, it will need to be replaced. Replacement units have the new software program installed.
NOTE:
Navigation unit design may differ slightly from model to model.
VEHICLES AFFECTED: 2008-09 model year Azera, Santa Fe and Veracruz vehicles equipped with an in-car navigation system.
PARTS INFORMATION
Two (2) reprogramming CD discs were sent to each dealer to be used for updating the navigation software. Additional discs can be ordered through the PDC.

REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Before starting the reprogramming procedure, check the software version in the navigation system (the procedure is listed on pages 6 and 7 of this TSB). If the software version is "10.1", reprogramming is not required.
- Turn key to the Accessory (ACC) position, remove any CD/DVD disc from the audio unit and press the OK button on the screen.
- Record the customer's radio stations in AM/FM and XM radios.
- Push the OPEN
button on the control panel to open the door.
- Insert the update CD.
- The system will display the IMAGE UPGRADE screen. Press the IMAGE UPGRADE
bar on the screen.
- Press the OK
button on the screen.
- Press OK
to begin the upgrade procedure.
- The following screen will display indicating the reprogramming procedure has begun. The update process will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
- After the reprogramming is complete, the "UPGRADE COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY" screen will appear. Press OK and the system will automatically turn off and then back on.
- After the unit is turned back on, press the OPEN
button on the control panel to open the door.
- Press the Eject button and take out the reprogramming CD. Press the CLOSE
button on the control panel to close the door.
- To verify the Navigation unit has been reprogrammed successfully, push the MAP
button on the control panel for the start up screen to appear and then press OK.
- Push the SETUP
button on the control panel.
- Press the DEVICE INFO
button in the SETUP screen.
- Verify the SW Version on the screen reads "10.1"
. If the SW Version does not match, repeats steps 1- 13.
- Reset the customer's radio stations and verify the Navigation/Audio unit is functioning correctly.
