Engine Control Module (ECM): Replacement
CAUTION:
- In the case of the vehicle equipped with immobilizer, perform "KEY TEACHING" procedure together (Refer to IMMOBILIZER CONTROL SYSTEM ).
- When replacing an PCM, the VIN must be programmed in the PCM. If there is no VIN in PCM memory, the fault code (DTC P0630) is set.
- Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the cover of the PCM & relay box (A).
- Disconnect the PCM connectors (A).
- Unscrew the PCM bracket mounting bolt (B) and the nuts (C), and then remove the PCM.
- Install a new PCM.
PCM installation bolts (on bracket): 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lbf.ft)
PCM bracket installation bolt/nuts: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8 7 lbf.ft)
- Perform "Key Teaching" procedure (Refer to "IMMOBILIZER CONTROL SYSTEM ").
- Input the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) (Refer to "VIN PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE ").
