Component Inspection

■ Check power seat slide switch 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Monitor the "SLIDE FORWARD (BACKWARD) SW" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating power seat slide switch.

    Specification  : Refer the specifications in Fig.1), Fig.2)

  4. Is the measured current data within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to  1 Check power seat slide motor procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good power seat slide switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace power seat slide switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check power seat slide motor 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Select "ACTUATION TEST" mode on scantool and press [F1] to start

  4. Dose power seat slide motor work properly?

    YES 

    • Go to  1 Check power seat slide sensor procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good power seat slide motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace power seat slide motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check power seat slide sensor 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Monitor the "SLIDE POSITION" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating power seat slide switch.

    Specification  : Refer the specifications in Fig.5)

  4. Is the measured voltage within specifications in Fig.5)?

    YES 

    • Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good power seat slide motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace power seat slide motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
