Component Inspection

■ Check Telescope switch 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Monitor the "TELESCO. FORWARD (BACKWARD) SW" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating Telescope switch.

    Specification:  Refer the specifications in Fig.1), Fig.2)

  4. Is the measured current data within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to  1 to Check Telescope motor procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good Telescope switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Telescope switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check Telescope motor 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Select "ACTUATION TEST" mode on scantool and press [F1] to start

  4. Dose Telescope motor work properly?

    YES 

    • Go to  1 to Check Telescope sensor procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good Telescope motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Telescope motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check Telescope sensor 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Monitor the "TELESCOPE SENSOR" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating telescope switch.

    Specification:  Refer the specifications in Fig.5)

  4. Is the measured voltage within specifications in Fig.5)?

    YES 

    • Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good Telescope motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Telescope motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
