Component Inspection

  1. Check IATS resistance
    1. IG "OFF".
    2. Disconnect IATS connector.
    3. Measure resistance between terminal 3 and 4 of IATS connector (Component Side)
      1. Specification:
        TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION CHART

        Temp. (°C) -40.0 -20.0 0.0 20.0 40.0 60.0 80.0
        Temp. (°F) -40.0 -4.0 32.0 68.0 104.0 140.0 176.0
        Resist. (kΩ) 41.26 ~ 47.49 14.26 ~ 16.02 5.5 ~ 2.54 2.35 ~ 2.54 1.11 ~ 1.19 0.57 ~ 0.6 0.31 ~ 0.32

    4. Is the measured resistance within specification?

      YES

      1. Go to " 2 Check ECM" as follows.

      NO

      1. Substitute with a known - good IATS and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace IATS and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

  2. Check ECM
    1. IG "OFF" and disconnect MAPS connector.
    2. Connect scan tool and Key "ON".
    3. Select simulation function on scan tool.
    4. Simulate voltage at terminal 3 of IATS signal connector.

    5. Does the signal value of IATS change according to simulation voltage?

      YES

      1. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

      NO

      1. Substitute with a known - good ECM and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace ECM and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
