Alarm Module: Service and Repair





Removal

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the crash pad lower panel.
3. Disconnect the connector of the immobilizer unit and then remove the immobilizer unit (A) after loosening the nut.





NOTE:
Using a suitable tool, cut slots into the heads of the shear bolts.
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from flying bits of metal.
Wear work gloves to protect your hands from any sharp metal edges on the shear bolt.

Installation

1. Install the immobilizer control unit after connecting the unit connector.
2. Install the crash pad lower panel.

NOTE:
Do not reuse the shear bolts.
Tighten the new shear bolts until the hex heads twist off.
