DESCRIPTION
This bulletin describes the procedure to reprogram the Bluetooth software in 2012 Genesis sedan vehicles with a Single-Disc CD Player and Touch Screen Navigation. This software update does not apply to the Driver Information System (DIS) Navigation.
Applicable Vehicles: 2012 Genesis Sedan (BH) produced from April 17, 2011 - July 15, 2011
PARTS INFORMATION
One reprogramming USB memory stick will be sent to each dealer to be used for updating the Bluetooth software. Additional memory sticks can be ordered through the PDC.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Before conducting the procedure, verify that the vehicle has an open campaign TI0.
BLUETOOTH SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR TOUCH SCREEN NAVIGATION SYSTEM
- Place the ignition switch in the "ACC" position by pushing the Start Stop Button one time (without placing your foot on the brake pedal).
- Open the center console armrest and plug the supplied USB memory stick into the USB slot.NOTE: Music will begin to play. The volume can be turned down during the reprogramming.
- Turn on the navigation system by pressing the power button. Press the "AGREE" button on the display to acknowledge the caution screen.
- Press the "PHONE" button on the control panel.
- Press the "SETTINGS" button on the screen.
- Touch the lower left corner and then touch the upper right corner (just below the "back arrow" icon) on the SETTINGS screen to access the Bluetooth Engineering Mode menu.
- Check "Model Revision Ex:" on the screen for the Bluetooth software version.
- Start the reprogram by touching the "FSW-Update" button on the screen. The reprogramming time is approximately 7 minutes.
- When the reprogramming is complete, an "Update Finished" message will display at the bottom of the screen. Push the Start/Stop button two times (without depressing the brake pedal) to turn off the vehicle.
- Push the Start/Stop Button one time (without depressing the brake pedal) to turn the ignition to the "ACC" position. Repeat Steps 3-7 to verify the Bluetooth software version has been changed to 3.13.4.
- To check the Bluetooth system, push the Voice Recognition button on the steering wheel and say "HELP" after the beep sound. The system will recognize the prompt and will answer with the available command options. Campaign procedure complete.
BLUETOOTH SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR SINGLE-DISC PLAYER
- Place the ignition switch in the "ACC" position by pushing the Start Stop Button one time (without placing your foot on the brake pedal).
- The "GENESIS" startup screen will appear.
- Open the center console armrest and plug the supplied USB memory stick into the USB slot.
- The "READING USB" message will display on the screen momentarily.
- The audio file will begin. Allow the music to play for at least 5 seconds.
- Push the "POWER" button to turn the radio off.
- Push and hold the Preset-4 button for two seconds and release. Next push the Preset-1 button four times.
- The current Bluetooth software version will display on the screen:
- Push and release the Preset-5 button one time and then push and release the Preset-2 button one time.
- The Bluetooth reprogramming procedure will begin. The reprogramming time is approximately 20 minutes.
- When the reprogramming is complete, repeat step 7 to verify the Bluetooth software version has been changed to 3.12.9.
- To check the Bluetooth system, push the Voice Recognition button on the steering wheel and say "HELP" after the beep sound. The system will recognize the prompt and will answer with the available command options. Campaign procedure complete.
