Dealers must perform this service campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery. When a vehicle arrives at the service department, access the Hyundai Motor America's "warranty vehicle information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open campaigns.
DESCRIPTION
This bulletin describes the procedure to update the software in the 2012 Genesis and Tucson vehicles with Touch Screen Navigation system.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES
2012 GENESIS SEDAN&TUCSON with Touch Screen Navigation system produced from June 21, 2011 to March 17, 2012.
PARTS INFORMATION
Two USB memory sticks will be sent to each dealer to be used for updating the Touch Screen Navigation system software. Additional memory sticks can be ordered through the PDC.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Software Update Procedure for the Genesis Sedan
- Place the ignition switch to the Accessory
position by pushing the start/stop button one time (without depressing the brake pedal).
- Insert the USB memory stick into the USB slot in the console armrest box.
- Turn the navigation system ON and press the "Agree" button.
Press the "SETUP" button.
- Press the "System Info" button.
- The System Information along with the current system software version is displayed on the screen.
Place your finger on the ocean part of the globe without touching land or satellites. Touch and hold for about 3 to 5 seconds until the "DEV_MODE" screen displays.
- Press the "USB upgrade" button.
- The screen will prompt to "Press the reset button".
- Press the "RESET" button on the right side of the audio head unit.
- The update process will begin and take about 6 minutes.
The system will turn off when completed.
- Press the power knob to turn on the navigation system.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 to confirm the Software Version.
- Verify the S/W Version is "V_188_2".
If the software version matches, the campaign procedure is complete.
Repeat the update procedure starting from Step 5 if the software version does not match.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Software update procedure for the Tucson
- Place the ignition switch to the Accessory
position by turning the ignition switch to the "ACC" position.
- Insert the USB memory stick into the USB slot.
- Turn the navigation system ON and press the "Agree" button.
Press the "SETUP" button.
- Press the "System Info" button.
- The System Information along with the current system software version is displayed on the screen.
Place your finger on the ocean part of the globe without touching land or satellites. Touch and hold for about 3 to 5 seconds until the "DEV_MODE" screen displays.
- Press the "USB upgrade" button.
- Press "Yes" to start update process.
- Updating will begin and take about 6 minutes.
- The system will turn off when completed.
- Press the power knob to turn on the navigation system.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 to confirm the Software Version.
- Verify the S/W Version is "V_618_4".
If the software version matches, the campaign procedure is complete.
Repeat the update procedure starting from Step 5 if the software version does not match.
