General Information: DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Plausibility check
  • Poor connection or damaged harness
  • Faulty IAT sensor
Enable Conditions Case 1
  • Engine running
  • Battery voltage > 6V
  • No relevant failure
  • Engine Coolant Temp. ≥ 73°C (163°F)
  • ECT at engine start - ECT at Eng. stop at previous driving cycle > 5.3°C (41.5°F)
  • Cumulative time for IAT signal increase check (low load driving condition: air flow < 20kg/h) > 200 sec.
  • Cumulative time for IAT signal decrease check (high load driving condition: air flow > 40kg/h) > 160 sec.
Case 2
  • Ignition "ON"
  • Battery voltage ≥ 6V
  • No Intake Air Temp.(IAT) sensor electrical error
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Signal stuck: Intake air temperature signal variation since Engine Start < 1.5 °C ~ 40 °C
Case 2
  • Noisy signal: IAT - IAT moving mean value > 8 °C
Diagnostic Time Case 1
  • Immediate
Case 2
  • 0.5 sec.
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
