DESCRIPTION

This bulletin describes the procedure of updating the operating system software for 2014 Model Year Tucson, Sonata, Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport Navigation systems.

Additional Update SD Cards can be ordered through the PDC.

PROCEDURE: Automatic Navigation Operating System Update

NOTE: With the ignition OFF, eject the SD Card that is currently inserted in the Navigation system. Insert the Update SD Card into the Navigation system, and then follow the service procedure.

With the vehicle ignition OFF and the Navigation system off, remove the Navigation SD Map card then insert the Update SD Card (A).
NOTE: You temporarily may store the Navigation Map SD card in the SD Card holder supplied with the Update SD Card as shown in the illustration.
Start the vehicle by using the key (B), or with the Start Stop Button (C).
NOTE: To start the vehicle using the Start/Stop Button (C) depress the brake and push the Start/Stop Button once.
The update will begin automatically.
NOTE: If the update does not start automatically, go to procedure (11) to confirm the current software version.
If the software version seen is not the version in the table, go to procedure (5) to update manually.
The Navigation Operating System software will continue to update until complete.

PROCEDURE: Manual Update
Follow procedure (1) and (2).
To start the manual update, press the "SETUP" hard button.

NOTE: Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport will transition directly to the Setup menu shown in procedure (7).
Some vehicles transition to the selection menu before the Setup screen is displayed.
Press Setup on the display to enter the Setup menu.
From the Setup menu, press "System Update" on the display.
From the System Update menu press "Update" on the display.
After the update is complete the radio will restart and the clock will be shown.
Turn the Ignition OFF then remove the Update SD Card.
Re-insert the original map SD Card that was removed from the Navigation System in procedure (1).

Confirm that the software version has been updated.

Follow procedure (5) through (7) to enter the "System Update menu to compare the S/W Version with the table below.
