Dealers must perform this Service Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Hyundai Motor America's "Warranty Vehicle Information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns.

DESCRIPTION

This bulletin provides the procedure to update the ECM (Engine Control Module) software on certain Genesis (DH) vehicles with the 5.0L GDI engine. This software updates the rear lambda O2 sensor diagnostic logic to correspond with CARB In-Use Monitor Performance Report (IUMPR) specifications.

NOTE: There are no vehicle performance issues associated with this condition.

Applicable Vehicle: Certain 2015MY Genesis (DH) with 5.0L GDI engines

NOTE: You must initially perform GDS ECU Update in Auto Mode.

If the ECU Update starts but then fails in Auto Mode, perform the update in Manual Mode to recover.
