Repair Procedures: Inspection

- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the mode control actuator connector.
- Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defog mode when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.
Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode when connected in reverse.
- Connect the mode control actuator connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between terminal 4 and 5.

- If the measured voltage is not within specification, substitute with a known-good mode control actuator and check for proper operation.
- If the problem is corrected, replace the mode control actuator.
