Signal Circuit Inspection

■ Check short to battery in harness

IG KEY "OFF".
Disconnect the ECM and IDB connectors.
IG KEY "ON".
Measure voltage between injector signal terminal of IDB harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 0V
Is the measured voltage within specifications?
YES
- Go to "Check short to ground in harness" procedure below.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check short to ground in harness

IG KEY "OFF"
Disconnect the ECM and IDB connectors.
Measure resistance between injector signal terminal of IDB harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Infinite
Is the measured resistance within specifications?
YES
- Go to "Check open in harness" procedure below.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check open in harness

IG KEY "OFF".
Disconnect the ECM and IDB connectors.
Measure the resistance between both ends of the injector signal harness.
Specification: Approx. 0Ω
Is the measured resistance within specifications?
YES
- Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness (es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage. So, check poor connections and the related circuit between IDB and component thoroughly. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
