Repair Procedures: Replacement

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Use seat covers to avoid damaging any surfaces.
  1. Remove the following parts.
    1. Tail Gate Frame Upper Trim & Tail Gate Center Trim

      (Refer to: BD procedure - "TAIL GATE ").

    2. Tail Gate Trim

      (Refer to: BD procedure - "TAIL GATE ").

    3. Tail Gate Frame Side Trim

      (Refer to: BD procedure - "TAIL GATE ").

    4. Tail Gate Glass Heater Connector

      (Refer to: BE procedure - "Rear Window Defogger")

    5. Rear Wiper Arm

      (Refer to: BE procedure - "Rear Wiper/Washer")

  2. Disconnect the Washer Nozzle (B) and the High Mounted Stop Lamp Connector (A).

  3. Loosen the Rear Spoiler Mounting Nuts.

    Tightening Torque: 

    5.9 ~ 6.4 N.m (0.6 ~ 0.65 kgf.m, 4.3 ~ 4.7 lb-ft)

  4. Remove the Rear Spoiler (A).

  5. Spread the WD-40 on the side of Tail Gate Glass.
  6. Using masking tape create some alignment marks (C) to aid in reinstallation.

  7. Cut out the Adhesive using the Cutter (A).
    NOTE:
    • Please use the Cutter with a blade length between 8-12 inches.

  8. Enough on the upper, lower, side of tail gate glass, and then cut out the adhesive using the cutter tool (09861-31100).

  9. Remove the Tail Gate Glass (A).
    NOTE:
    • When removing and installing the Tail Gate Glass, an assistant is necessary.
