General Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible cause
DTC Strategy
  • Monitor the spark timing
  1. Faulty Ignition Coil
  2. Faulty PCM
Enable Conditions
  • After engine soaking overnight
  • Vehicle is not rapidly accelerating or decelerating.
  • Battery Voltage between 11V and 16V
  • Engine is running.
  • NO DTC related to CKPS, Ignition coil, and Misfire
Threshold value
  • The actual spark timing > the commanded spark timing + 15° or < the commanded spark timing -15°
Diagnosis Time
  • Within 1 minute after cold-starting
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Drive Cycles
