Monitor GDS Data

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC)
  2. IG key "ON", Engine "ON".
  3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  4. Monitor diagnostic trouble code and present of trouble code.
  5. Are any DTCs present?
  6. Is the same DTC detected again?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good "4WD-ECU" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "4WD-ECM" and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
    • Check Mechanical problem of Transfer Case.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or "4WD-ECU's connector or was repaired and "4WD-ECU" memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
