Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery and then wait for at least 30 seconds.
  2. Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels can face straight ahead.
  3. Remove the airbag module.

    NOTE: Insert the end of the flat tool along the guide hole. (Ø5mm allen wrench recommend.)
    After inserting the tool, lightly press it. Can be easily remove the air bag module.
    Release the bottom of hole and then release the left or right holes.
  4. Disconnect the air bag connector (A) and horn connector (B).

  5. Loosen the steering wheel lock bolt (A) and then separate the steering wheel form the steering column.

    Tightening torque: 

    44.1 ~ 49.0 N.m (4.5 ~ 5.0 kgf.m, 32.5 ~ 36.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE: Do not reuse the steering lock bolt.
  6. Installation is the reverse of the removal.
