Monitor DTC status

  1. Connect GDS and select 'DTC Analysis' mode.
  2. Select 'Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)' button, Press 'DTC Status' to check DTC information from the DTCs menu.
  3. Confirm that 'DTC Readiness Flag' indicates 'COMPLETED'. If not, drive the vehicle within conditions noted in the freeze frame data or enable conditions.
  4. Read 'DTC Status' parameter.
  5. Record all DTCs, DTC status and freeze frame data. Does DTC Status indicate 'Present'?
    NOTE:
    • History (Not Present) fault: DTC occurred but has been cleared.
    • Present fault: DTC is occurring at present time.

    YES 

    • Go to next step below.

    NO 

    • This can be an intermittent fault caused by poor contact of the sensor and/or ECM connector. Or, it will happen when ECM memory was not cleared after repair. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace the relevant component(s) as necessary, and go to "Verification Of Repair ".
